OPEN MRI

MORE SPACE, MORE COMFORT – GENTLE DIAGNOSTICS WITHOUT THE “TUNNEL FEELING.”

WHAT CONDITIONS IS THE OPEN MRI SUITABLE FOR?

      • Joint and spinal conditions
      • Sports and trauma injuries
      • Degenerative conditions (e.g., osteoarthritis)
      • Herniated discs and back pain
      • Soft tissue changes (muscles, ligaments, tendons)

Whether an open MRI is suitable for your specific medical question is discussed individually with you – we are also happy to coordinate with your general practitioner or specialist.

      HOW THE EXAMINATION WORKS

      1. Pre-examination discussion:
We review your symptoms, previous findings, and possible pre-existing conditions (e.g., pacemakers, implants). We also address your questions and any concerns you may have.
      2. Preparation:
Before the examination, you remove metallic objects such as jewellery, watches, or belts. Depending on the body region being examined, you may wear your own clothing or receive comfortable practice garments.

      3. The MRI examination itself:
You lie relaxed on the examination table within the open MRI system. During the scan, you will hear the typical tapping noises of the device – we can provide ear protection upon request. Our team maintains communication with you via intercom and visual contact at all times.
      4. After the examination:
The images are evaluated by our physicians. We then discuss the results with you or forward them digitally to your referring doctor.
