Emergency medicine
At FISSMED, we are fully prepared for medical emergencies – from acute internal conditions and severe injuries to resuscitation or assistance during childbirth. We care for emergencies from beginning to end – from the cradle to the grave.
In our modern shock room, we provide initial treatment and stabilisation using state-of-the-art intensive care equipment. We then organise the fastest possible transfer to a suitable hospital.
Our team consists of experienced emergency physicians and paramedics who are highly trained and well practised in treating a wide range of emergencies. Rapid stabilisation, prevention of consequential damage, and swift recovery are always our top priorities.
A new and more powerful emergency response vehicle (NEF) is now in service, fully integrated into the Tyrolean emergency medical system and available as a first responder for the region.
We maintain close cooperation with our partners – including local ambulance services, the Rotes Kreuz, mountain rescue, and Air Rescue Tirol. During peak season, up to 16 emergency helicopters are available in Tyrol for rapid alpine rescue. When weather or visibility makes air operations impossible, we take over care directly on the slopes – professional, fast, and even under challenging conditions.
This ensures that help arrives exactly where it is needed – at all times and under all circumstances.
